In keeping with our community ethos, this year we have chosen local charity, the Wood Street Mission, to support and staff and residents have all been helping out.
The charity has, for 143 years, been offering practical help to children and families living in Manchester and Salford with everyday items most of us take for granted.
Its Christmas Appeal, which Portergate and the Riverside team are supporting, helps some 2,000 local families during the holiday season, but its work is a 12-month operation to help alleviate poverty in the area.
