Steve brings a depth of experience and knowledge to his role at Riverside House, ensuring that delivering service is at the heart of everything.
He’s worked in student accommodation, from cleaning and maintenance to his present administration role.
And the result is the keen attention to detail which sets Riverside House aside from the rest.
Steve, who lives in Salford, also knows about local student life and the challenges it brings from his own time studying maths as an undergraduate in Manchester.
Away from work he’s a keen cyclist.
Steven DysonMaintenance, Riverside House
Steven is in charge of maintenance at Riverside House, providing a friendly, efficient first-class service for residents.
Steven’s experience in a whole host of trades – from electrics and plumbing to joinery – is ideal in fulfilling the role of ensuring Riverside House is properly looked after.
Steven works well in a team environment and enjoys helping people. His past experience as a groundsman and handyman has seen him work in woodlands in Cheshire, holiday complexes in Scotland and airside duties at Manchester Airport.
From South Manchester, his formal training is in joinery, but his skills have widened over the years to make Steven a valuable member of the Riverside team.
Kevin BuckleyAccommodation Manager
With over 7 years’ experience in the hospitality, leisure and tourism sector, Kevin brings a great deal of expertise to his role as Accomodation Manager.
As manager of two hotels in Manchester, he is well versed in the day-to-day responsibilities required to keep things running smoothly at Riverside. He has advanced qualifications in both team leadership and customer service, and has worked in hospitality in venues across Manchester.
Jack WrightMarketing Assistant
Jack completing his degree at Manchester Metropolitan University this Summer and is delighted to have a career opportunity with Portergate. He hopes to utilize his education in a marketing and media role.
Jack is 21 years of age and has wide experience in a front of house capacity for various entertainment and hospitality businesses. Previous key responsibilities in these roles were in greeting and welcoming customers, displaying good knowledge of the products and services and answering queries and requests either in person or by telephone. His degree provides him with solid computer, administrative and literacy skills.
Jack comments, “I believe I am personable and get on well with people and relish this opportunity to progress my career here at Riverside.”
Gabriel has joined our team as Receptionist at Riverside, helping to ensure that our residents feel welcomed and keeping them informed, able to answer any queries they may have.
Gabriel is an enthusiastic and diligent member of the team, able to speak three languages – English, Spanish and Japanese. With experience in computer engineering as well as customer service, he is well-equipped to his role here at Riverside.
Gabriel shares Portergate’s commitment to maintaining a high standard of care for our residents.
Marco joins the Riverside team in the role of caretaker bringing a wealth of experience working on three continents.
The Buenos Aires-educated Argentine national is a skilled joiner, electrician and painter with 13 years’ experience in commercial and residential building maintenance.
Marco is resident in Salford and speaks two languages, Spanish and English, fluently. He will help the maintenance team at Riverside House provide a friendly, efficient first-class service for residents.
Cath BaylissHousekeeper, Riverside House
Riverside House prides itself on its appearance – and Cath is on hand to make sure that it continues to shine.
She carries out housekeeping duties at Riverside House and works tirelessly to ensure the team’s high standards are maintained.
Another local, she lived for more than 30 years in the area and loves its strong community spirit.
Sue WalshHousekeeper, Riverside House
Sue brings many years of experience of housekeeping in student accommodation to Riverside House.
Working with Cath Bayliss, Sue will contribute to keeping Riverside House spotlessly clean and caring for our residents.
Sue is another Salford resident to work with Portergate Property Management continuing the emphasis on local ties with the community.
Gemma PetersHead Housekeeper, Riverside House
Gemma has a wealth of experience in the hotel sector – experience she now brings to Riverside House to ensure the highest standards continued to be maintained.
In her role as housekeeper Gemma, another Salford local, takes pride in Riverside’s pristine appearance.
Away from work mum-of-one Gemma enjoys going to the gym and zumba.
