Salford’s luxury student accommodation Riverside House isn’t the only place in the city where there will be a feel good factor next week.
Students at Riverside are used to going round with a smile on their faces. And that feeling of wellbeing is set to spread thanks to a special week-long university event.
The Feel Good Festival is taking over the University of Salford from Monday October 26 until Friday October 30.
Organisers say they are set to unleash a “jam-packed week of fun, freebies and competitions”.
Full details of the festival can be found on the university’s website www.salford.ac.uk. It reports that planned events range from pool parties to great Salford bake-offs, with fun events every day for students to get involved in.
Highlights include free body conditioning on Tuesday and USSU Zumba sessions on Wednesday.
And a special wellbeing team will make daily trips around campus. Tell them what makes you feel good and get a free balloon and entry into a prize draw!
Top athletes are on hand at the sports centre on Thursday providing tips on healthy food and sharing what makes them feel good.
There will be a photo competition with Salford’s students urged to tweet an image of what makes them feel good at the university using the hashtag #FeelGoodUoS.
And the whole week ends on Friday with a grand festival finale with a £100 prize draw and a cake making competition inspired by TV’s Great British Bake Off.
To enter, you just need to submit your best cake which will put yourself in with the chance of walking away with a great hamper of goodies.
Students should bring their cake to Chapman building between 2pm-3pm ready for the judges panel at 3.30pm.
